Salinas Public Library's Literacy Assistant Susanna Crichton hosted a training May 9th for tutors at the Monterey County Free Library on how to use comics to teach reading. She believes that graphic novels can help adults with overall comprehension, left-to-right tracking for reading, vocabulary, social and emotional cues as well as a sense of accomplishment...What we have planned for adults!

At the John Steinbeck Library, the Literacy Center teems with adult learners and adults at Cesar Chavez Library take full advantage of the Alisal Room to gain computer and language skills.
