The Salinas Public Library believes every town needs a library, and that's why we were happy to participate in the "MY TOWN"  pop-up exhibit at the CSUMB Salinas Center for the Arts Culture. This fun exhibit recreates a small town for young children where they can explore and learn about what makes a community. The interactive landscape includes many of the elements that constitute a town, from farm lands to farmer's markets, to construction zones and natural waterways and parks. There are craft stations and opportunities for hands-on experiences throughout the exhibit.

The "MY LIBRARY" space recreates a kid-sized library with over 140 titles where children can pretend to check-out books, scan them for check-in, and shelve them on kid-friendly bookcases. The library is also offering story time at the exhibit on Saturday afternoons at 3:00 pm, and on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am.

The exhibit is open Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Fridays thru Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and runs through July 21st. The exhibit is a collaboration between CSUMB Salinas Center for the Arts and Culture, My Museum, First 5 of Monterey County, the Salinas Public Library, and Hijos del Sol Arts.
