Salinas Public Library invites all community members to visit the library and join our celebration of the National Library Week, from April 23-29.

Most people know about the wealth of stories available at the library, from picture books and large print to audiobooks and eBooks. But there's so much more to the story of libraries. Libraries have been reinventing themselves to be welcoming spaces that bring communities together for entertainment, education, and connection through book clubs, storytimes, movie nights, crafting classes, lectures, and more. Salinas Public Library offers a wide array of programs and resources beyond the 'traditional' perception of library services including passes to State Parks and museums, Digital Arts Lab, adult and youth maker kits, video games, Outdoor Adventure backpacks, STEM programs, health resources, meeting/study rooms, and more. And libraries play a critical role in the economic vitality of communities by providing internet and technology access, literacy skills, and support for students, families, job seekers, small businesses, and entrepreneurs.

If you haven't checked out your neighborhood Salinas Public Library lately, you're missing the full story! It's not too late, though. Join us during National Library Week at one of our Library Open House events to meet our Librarians and library staff, learn about library resources, and explore all that the library have to offer to improve your quality of life. You may also enter a drawing for a $100 gift card, courtesy of the Friends of Salinas Public Library, during Library Open House at these locations:

Follow the Library on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter and the hashtag #NationalLibraryWeek #SalinasPublicLibrary to join the online celebration.
First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries of all types across the country each April.
