Announcing our winners in the Peeps Diorama Contest!
We are happy to announce that the first-placed winner of our Peeps Diorama contest is "Peep Paint," a clever interpretation of the popular children's book Mouse Paint by Ellen Stoll Walsh. The runner ups were "Dig, Dump, Roll," based on the book by the same name, "Captain Peep," based on the book "The Adventures of Captain Underpants," by Dav Pilkey, and "The Peep and the Hat," based on the children's classic "The Cat in the Hat," by Dr. Seuss.
Participants first picked up the supplies for a Peep diorama at the library last month on March 25th, and were given some guidelines on how to create a scene representing a favorite book. Kits included chick and bunny Peeps as well as some craft supplies. Once their creations were complete, participants sent a picture to library staff who then posted the pictures to the library's social media page.
The public was asked to "like" their favorite dioramas on the library's Facebook page, and winners were determined by which dioramas received the most likes. View all of the entries in the original Facebook post. Winners received a Peeps activity book and a children's book to add to their home libraries.
Ms. Leslie and the rest of the librarian team want to thank all of the participants for their creativity and ingenuity! It was a joy to see all of the submissions.
