More than fifty local residents came together to listen to stories told by authors and artists about the Salinas Chinatown, its influence on their work, and its nuanced history. There were historic photos on display, as well as books by the authors. Refreshments included Chinese sesame balls, Japanese sushi, and Filipino lumpia, cookies and hot tea.

The event which took place on Tuesday, May 21st from 5:30 to 7:30 pm was hosted by Asian Cultural Experience (ACE) in recognition of Asian American Heritage Month. Special thanks to presenters Gerry Low-Sabado, Kainoa Rocamora, Jean Vengua, Richard Villegas, Larry Hirahara, and Wally Ahyte for the gift of their time and wisdom.
