If you don’t expect these from your local library, the Salinas Public library wants you to try out these services in the new year

There are thousands of books and audio books in our digital collection, and movies and music to stream on hoopla and kanopy.  A library card also provides access to a wealth of resources including best sellers, popular magazines, newspapers like the New York Times, research tools, and learning tools online like BrainfuseLynda.com, Mango Languages, and Rosetta Stone. Last year, the library saw an increase of 43% in the utilization of our online resources.

ZIP books also had a successful 2019. Browse over to the Library's Mobile Services page and check it out: Zip Books. Here you can request books or audiobooks not already owned by the Library and have them delivered to your home. All you need is a library card in good standing to get started. Once you finish the book, you simply return it to the library. Sounds pretty interesting, right? We think this personalized service adds a lot of value to the community, especially for those who might find themselves temporarily homebound.
