Salinas Public Library patrons now have more choice to access their favorite digital magazines, with the addition of Flipster from EBSCO Information Services. The addition of this service, which has been made possible through funding allocation from Pacific Library Partnership, is especially timely with the increased need of digital access to library services, due the Covid-19 pandemic.

Flipster offers an easy, browse-able reading experience, using an online newsstand to provide a carousel of the most recent issues. Users can browse magazines by category as well as perform searches for specific titles. The table of contents of each magazine contains links for quick access to articles of interest and hotlinks within magazines are hyperlinked, opening in separate tabs when clicked. In addition, there is an option to zoom in and out for better readability. 

Flipster also provides content integration with both MasterFile and Explora research databases that are offered by the library. The library also offers additional access to digital magazines through RBdigital Magazine platform with about 50 magazine titles available.
