Does the library have computers?
All library locations offer computer workstations that have internet access and are equipped with Microsoft Office productivity software for text documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Using your library card number, you can use the computers for up to 2 hours at all three branches.
Visitors without a library card can a receive a guest pass from the librarian's desk. A guest pass allows you to use a computer for up to 2 hours.
AWE Early Literacy Stations are available on a first-come, first-served basis for the Library’s youngest patrons. The AWE stations feature fun and interactive content in Math, Science and Nature, Social Studies, Reading, Art, Writing and Computer Skills.
Does the library have Wi-Fi?
All library locations offer free Wi-Fi to library visitors. You do not need a library card to connect to the wireless network on your personal device. Coverage is extended to the parking lots adjacent to the libraries.
Can I print in the library?
The library provides public printers at all locations. Library cardholders are provided a daily free printing allowance of up to $0.50. Printing cost $0.10 for black & white print, and $0.25 for color print. There is no free printing allowance for non-cardholders using guest passes.
Can I print from my own mobile device (phone, tablet, laptop)?
Patrons can also print directly from their mobile device or home/school computer by using one of the following options: the Princh apps available for IOS and Android phones or the website at print.princh.com. For more information, please visit our "How Do I" page.
Can I make photocopies in the library?
The Library provides photocopy machines at all locations. Library visitors can also use the Library Document Stations for photocopying purposes.
Photocopies are $0.10 per black & white page.
Can I send fax in the library?
Library visitors can use the Library Document Stations available at all locations to send faxes.
There are no cost to send faxes at the Library.
Does the library have a microfilm machine?
The library provides a microfilm machine in the Digital Arts Lab at the John Steinbeck Library. A library card is not required to use the machine; however, a library card or photo ID is required to request access to the microfiche. Microfilm prints cost $0.10 per black & white page.

Princh - An Easy Way to Print From Your Device at the Library
May 10, 2023Salinas Public Library introduces a new mobile printing solution, Princh, that allows everyone to print conveniently from their home or office/school computers or mobile devices, and pick up their printouts at the library. Print jobs can be sent to the library by using the Princh mobile apps (available for iOS and Android devices) or a web browser.
Each library location has its own mobile printing code, allowing you to conveniently retrieve your print jobs...
