Dog Man, Dinosaurs, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid
Those were just a few of the titles requested in our Spring Reading Challenge.
Ian, pictured above, was super-excited when he received his prize in the mail: two new books! His mother thanked the library and called it an "awesome program."
Over 170 children and teens participated in the Spring Reading Challenge which ran from April 27 through May 31st. Youth in Kindergarten through 12th grade were invited to read books they already had at home, or download them from the library website to their phone, tablet, or computer through Hoopla, and Overdrive.
"I am impressed we had such a great response from the community," says Librarian Luis Manzo. "We know many of these kids and miss them in the library. Creating the Spring Reading Challenge was a great way to promote literacy, and it provided us with the opportunity to stay connected."
