It was definitely on the Salinas Public Library's "Wish List" for several years, and often seemed unattainable for many of those years. Library staff wanted a new bookmobile that would replace the existing bookmobile purchased over a decade ago from another library system in the Midwest. Last Spring our Family Reading Circle program had lots of "points of contact." There were children's games played on the outdoor patio at Cesar Chavez Library, chairs huddled together in half circles with parents practicing their 'reading out loud skills,' and songs with fun rhymes sung over-and-over-again to the delight of the smallest children....
