Winter Reading Challenge
December 18 - January 13
Ages 0-18

The Winter Reading Challenge returns to the Salinas Public Library! This Winter Break is your chance to discover new titles or re-read some of your favorite books. Read for 15 minutes a day for 15 days, and you earn a FREE book! The challenge is open to all Salinas children and teens from December 18, 2023 – January 13, 2024. This is not a test or competition, so have fun.

You may read books that you already have at home, books you borrow from a friend, or checkout books from the library. You may also read e-books or listen to audiobooks on your phone, tablet, or computer through Libby or Hoopla. The goal is to read something you enjoy! Not sure what to read, you can ask one of our librarians or checkout the database Novelist Plus(link is external) where you can see recommendations for books in different genres for different ages.

Keep track of your reading via READsquared. Paper reading logs will also be available at any Salinas Public Library starting December 16, 2023.

You may start claiming your prizes as soon as January 2, 2024. To claim a prize, visit the library of your choice while supplies last. The last day to claim your prize is January 27, 2024.
