The STEM Design Challenge
Sign up for the STEM Design Challenge with The Tech and the Salinas Public Library! These Design Challenges provide students with a dynamic way to become problem-solvers. We’ll meet through Zoom and have one-hour workshops to focus on different design challenges. These challenges will be:
Earthquake!
In this challenge, you will build a structure and test it for earthquake safety. Safe structures will have little or no damage after an earthquake.
Stop that Ball!
When you drop a ball, it bounces! Can you design something with items found around your home that stop a ball from bouncing? Can you make it land so it doesn’t move at all?
Create with Cardboard
Create with cardboard ... no tape or glue allowed! |
Take Flight
Design and build a paper airplane that can safely transport a passenger at least 6 feet. Your passenger must stay on the plane and be visible from the outside. The goal is to get them to their destination safely!
