In this Science in a Jar kit, be prepared to learn about something you've been seeing a lot lately: water!

In the first experiment, learn about hydrophobic substances and how they react to water. Why do they do this? In the second experiment, you will use a sponge and some colored water to simulate the process by which moisture in the air gathers in clouds. What happens when the sponge is saturated? In the final experiment, place the pack of water beads in the jar with water, and come check out the results over time. By the time a whole day has gone by, these water-loving beads will have changed significantly! How do they do that?

Science in a Jar kits can be picked up at El Gabilan Library and Cesar Chavez Library during curbside hours, beginning February 4th, 2:00-6:00.

Recommended for children six years or older, or with adult supervision.
