Intro to Coding with Ozobots

Thursdays, October 6 – October 27, 2022
From 4PM – 5PM @ Cesar Chavez Library

No registration required. Limited space. Recommended for kids ages 6+.

What is an Ozobot?
Ozobots are miniature robots. You can draw a line, place the Ozobots on it and it will follow the line.  It is a great tool to teach the basics of programming in a fun and interactive way for children 6 years old and up.

How do Ozobots work?
Ozobots have optical sensors underneath, which allows them to detect and follow lines using a back-and-forth motion.  These sensors also detect colors which give different commands via different combinations of colors.

Why are Ozobots significant?
Ozobots are a simple, fun, and enjoyable way to get kids comfortable with robotics and programming. It is simple to have a sheet of codes and just draw designs on a piece of paper with colored markers.

What will kids learn?
1. What kind of robot is an Ozobots
2. How to use colored combinations to program Ozobots
