Artist selection process

Artists to be selected by a panel of library leaders and contacted for immediate project kickoff
Commissions may range from $250 - $2,000 per element
One or several awards may be granted per applicant. No more than three awards will be granted per applicant.
Selection of artists and next steps in developing the artwork and installation details for interactive educational elements contingent on art and educational element cost and available funding.

Artist selection criteria

Final "canvas selections" depend on results of cost efforts.
Artist selection will be dependent on evaluation of appropriateness of an artist's
- Experience with content (themes)
- Graphic style for content (themes)
Artist will meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Local (tri-county area) or local affiliation
- Artists inspired by Biology or other Sciences
- Artists inspired by history or portraiture

Submission requirements

Artist is available to work on this project from November 2019 - January 2020
250-500 words - Artist Biography
250-500 words - Statement of Interest
3-10 images showing:
- experience illustrating themes
- graphic styles
(if available) - 200- 500 words - Experience working on the Backyard Concept and/or Themes :
