Meeting & Study Rooms
Salinas Public Library offers a variety of spaces for public use including a conference room, four study rooms and two community meeting rooms.
Study Rooms
Three study rooms and a small conference room are available for public use at El Gabilan Library. One study room is available at Cesar Chavez Library during its regular operating hours. Reserve a study room here.
Study room usage guidelines:
- Rooms may be reserved by one or more people and cannot exceed the maximum occupancy for each room.
- Requests to use the study rooms may be made in person at El Gabilan Library, Cesar Chavez Library or online, but no more than one (1) week in advance.
- Room reservations are limited to two (2) hours per party, per day, to ensure equitable access of the library facility.
- Reservations may be canceled if the room is not being used within the first fifteen (15) minutes of the reservation (this rule does not apply to library programs).
- Unoccupied study rooms may be used by any library visitors but, occupants will be asked to vacate the room when a person with a valid reservation arrives.
- No food is allowed in the study room. Drinks must have lids and be kept away from electronics.
- Please be considerate of others and clean up before leaving the study room.

Community Meeting Rooms
Community meeting rooms are available at both Cesar Chavez and El Gabilan Library, and may be reserved for public use when not being used for Library activities. Fees may be charged according to the current Library Fee Schedule. If you have any questions or would like to discuss room availability, please email spl_meetingroom [at] ci.salinas.ca.us.

El Gabilan Library Community Room, Capacity: 184 people
A meeting room application form must be completed and submitted to the Library for room usage consideration. Applications must be submitted at least two weeks before the requested date. The submission of an application does not guarantee approval for room usage.
Completed applications can be e-mailed to spl_meetingroom [at] ci.salinas.ca.us (subject: Library%20Meeting%20Room%20Application) , or returned in person at a library facility. Please allow 3-5 business days for us to process and review your application.
