Dale's passion for history and experience in a migrant family combine in this historical novel that captures the striving and the pain experienced during this last great westward migration. Born in Oklahoma in the 1940s, Dale came to California with his migrant family, moving frequently as they followed the crops. The first in his family to attend college, he earned a graduate degree before embarking on a military career, and owning a successful food business. Dale's unwavering passion for American history led him to delve into creative writing during retirement.
