The Salinas Public Library's Literacy Team concluded its 7-week online family literacy program, Get on Board, Families this week with a near 100% completion rate.  Thirty-eight families completed all seven weeks of engagement, taking tours of famous museums and national parks, visiting some of the great wonders of the world, completing crafts activities, science experiments, and more.  

"Participation was impressive for this program," says Margarita Medina-Romero, Literacy Specialist.  "We met weekly on Zoom, and participants viewed the virtual tours on their own schedule, sharing their reactions and comments through emails and group posts to Google Classroom, and completing the activities we prepared for them."  Participants sent 646 emails, and made nearly 500 posts with their comments and reactions to their virtual classroom!
