Virtual Programs

You are here

While in-library programs are on hold during the pandemic closure, we have several engaging virtual programs available for young children and the adults in their lives.  There are many benefits to attending storytime programs. Storytime is a fun way to introduce children to books and reading and to build early literacy skills. Storytime also provides an enjoyable activity to share with your little ones and can provide a sense of routine which is so important for young children, particularly in the current times.

Librarians present stories, songs and rhymes in a virtual environment, matched to the ages and attention spans of the children.  After each program, parents will have an opportunity to ask questions about books, library programs, resources, and other services offered.

Preschool Kits To Go: Kits Available second Wedesday of each month,  2:00 – 6:00 pm

Our Youth Services librarians have created Preschool Kits to Go for little learners between the ages of 3 and 5 years old.  These kits include materials and suggestions for hands-on activities that encourage playful learning while developing kindergarten readiness skills.  A video with demonstrations and additional activity suggestions will be available for each kit. Kits may be picked up at Cesar Chavez Library, El Gabilan Library or John Steinbeck during Curbside Service hours (2pm-6pm) while supplies last.

If you are unable to join us for either of these programs, we have many storytime videos, book recommendations and craft tutorials available to watch at your convenience on our YouTube Channel.
