It's tax season again! Experts from the United Way's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) can help individuals earning less that $56,000 a year file their 2019 income taxes at the library!

Tax help takes place on Fridays at Cesar Chavez Library from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and is offered on a "first-come, first-served" basis. No registration is required.

Individuals are required to bring their:

  • Social security card or ITIN card for taxpayer, spouse, and dependents,
  • W-2s or 1099s from all employers and other tax forms,
  • Photo ID,
  • Bank account and routing numbers for direct deposit,
  • Health coverage information, and
  • Last year’s federal and state tax forms if available.

The goal of the program is to provide quality tax services to families, individuals and qualified small business owners. Salinas Public Library has been partnering with United Way's VITA program for over 5 years. The program will run through April 10th, 2020.
