Salinas Public Library invite the public to experience Native American stories!

Snappy Drawing Contest

Pickup an official entry form at any Salinas Public Library beginning March 24th. Contest ends April 7th. Participants must be 17 years old or younger. Prize winners will be announced at Snappy's Birthday Bash at the John Steinbeck Library, 4:00pm on Tuesday, April 12th. This event is free and open to the public, so join us!

Bilingual English-Asian Story Times

Saturdays @ 1:00pm
El Gabilan Library

The Salinas Public Library is pleased to announce a new weekly bilingual story time in English and Asian languages. Elementary age children (and younger) can join us for stories, rhymes, music and crafts. Speakers of all languages welcome!

Chinese New Year Celebration

Saturday, February 5, 2011
1:00 – 2:30 pm, Cesar Chavez Library

It's the year of the Rabbit! Join us for a special program to celebrate the 2011 Chinese New Year. This program will include a Chinese Lion Dance, Chinese games for children, a cultural presentation and tastes of Chinese food.

Snappy the leopard tortoise is the Salinas Public Library’s mascot. In just over 15 months, Snappy has become an Internet sensation. You can check out the Snappy Cam located on the Snappy webpage and read about Snappy in this blog article.
