Snappy
Picture
Snappy is the Salinas Public Library mascot. Snappy is a male Leopard Tortoise donated to Library by Jurassic Pets. Snappy was named by the community through a popular vote. Snappy enjoys gourmet meals of fresh dandelions, radicchio, malva, opuntia cactus, kale, bindweed and clover with an occasional plum, strawberry or peach. Each day, Snappy goes on a 15 minute outdoor walk. On most Sundays Snappy gets a warm bath. Yes, even tortoises have to take baths!

Snappy Time

Come visit Snappy and learn more about tortoises. Join us for Snappy Time at the John Steinbeck Library every Tuesday at 4:00pm. This is when Snappy is available to meet new friends. Adults and children are welcome.

Snappy Cam

Watch Snappy on the Snappy Cam. If the screen is offline (or dark), Snappy is sleeping.
